Estonia: number of ATMs down five percent during past year

The Bank of Estonia said that the number of ATMs in Estonia was 934 at the end of the previous year, fifty ATMs fewer than the year before.

The number of ATMs with the function of paying in cash was 106 and that of  ATMs in cross use 804. The number of cash and payment ATMs totaled 658 and the number of ATMs that only had the cash disposal function was was 206.

The number of sales points that accepted bank cards and mobile payments was 18,820, and the number of sales terminals was 27,651.

Both the number of sales points as well as terminals had somewhat contracted during the year.

The mobile payment sales points totaled 42 as of the end of June, 1.6 times higher than the year before.
