Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is to start flying from Tallinn to Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen next week.

Since Estonian Air announced on Saturday it would end its operations, SAS reacted to it and is to start flying between the Estonian capital city Tallinn and three Scandinavian capitals, SAS said. The flights are to take place daily.

The first flights are to take place next Monday and ticket sales are to begin on this week's Tuesday, spokesman for SAS told BNS. Aircraft with crew are to operate the flights under a wet lease arrangement but the agreements have not yet been entered into, he added.

«Tallinn is a destination where people who fly frequently want to travel and it is a popular vacation destination. Therefore we decided to react fast because Tallinn is an important destination in our region,» head of sales and marketing at SAS Eivind Roald said.

The airline plans to fly four times a day between Stockholm and Tallinn, three times a day between Copenhagen and Tallinn, and on the Oslo-Tallinn route once a day in each direction.
