Hardo Pajula becomes board member and editor-in-chief of Postimees as Merit Kopli gets promoted to chairman of the board.

Starting September 23rd, economist, analyst and a long-time Postimees columnist Hardo Pajula assumes office as board member and editor-in-chief of the newspaper.

Merit Kopli, currently board member and editor-in-chief of Postimees, will become chairman of the board and CEO of the company.

«In addition to responsibility for the journalistic content of Postimees, a task for Hardo Pajula will be boosting cooperation between publications under Eesti Meedia group and its subsidiary BNS,» said chairman of Eesti Meedia’s board Sven Nuutmann.

«Hardo’s excellent professional knowledge, his ability to see the big picture and the skill to explain complex topics simply and plainly will definitely enhance discussion among the staff at Postimees, on its pages, and in the society at large.»

As for Merit Kopli promoted to chairman of Postimees, Mr Nuutmann said this is the fruit of a job well done over the years.

«Merit Kopli has worked at Postimees since 2001, starting as foreign news editor, then head of special projects and deputy editor-in-chief, and from 2005 as editor-in-chief. She has proved herself well, keeping Postimees securely on track through the years,» said Mr Nuutmann.

Janeck Uibo is stepping down as chairman of Postimees’ board.

«The vision and strategy suggested by Janeck failed to find the needed support in the company,» admitted Mr Nuutmann. Janeck Uibo will continue in UP Invest.
