According to chairman of the council of Tallinn Kalev Kallo it is possible that Tallinn Mayor Edgar Savisaar could return to work already in August.

«It is possible,» Kallo told BNS when asked whether Savisaar could return to office in August. At the same time he added that he does not want to speculate on the topic.

According to Kallo he does not believe that Savisaar would initially work at half capacity when he returns since the mayor never does anything at half capacity.

In answer to another question, Kallo told BNS that the work of mayor could also be done from a distance.

The long-serving leader of the Center Party is recovering from a severe bout of streptococcal infection that necessitated the amputation of his right leg above knee on March 23 to stop the spread of the disease. The surgeries on Savisaar were performed at the Tartu University Hospital.

Following regenerative treatment at East-Tallinn Central Hospital Savisaar has been recovering at his home on Hundisilma farm situated on the fringes of the Lahemaa National Park some 65 kilometers from the capital since June 19.
