Premier Restaurants Eesti OU, holder of the McDonald's franchise in Estonia, made a profit of 1.6 million euros on revenues of 17.3 million euros in 2014.

Compared with 2013, profit was bigger by 10 percent and revenues by 1.2 percent.

The manager of McDonald's Baltics, Vladimir Janevski, said one can be satisfied with the outcome considering the tense competitive situation. He said people's economic self-confidence was being restored and the frequency of eating out had increased significantly in the Baltic countries.

«We will start with major investments already this year, renovating the Sole and Rocca al Mare McDonald's restaurants. We will present a new service concept, which means that preparation of products will start only after the order has been made,» he said.

Janevski said McDonald's was actively looking for a new location here, but remained tight-lipped about potential options.

McDonald's is planning to introduce self-service booths in Estonia shortly where customers can select products on a touchscreen.

«We will set up the first self-service outlets in the Sole, Rocca al Mare and Viru Street restaurants this year. In the coming years we will overhaul the other restaurants too,» the manager said.

The Maltese company Premier Capital owns 57 McDonald's restaurants in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Malta and Greece, which employ altogether more than 2,500 workers.
