According to European Commission's resettlement and relocation plan Estonia would get 738 refugees in addition to the 326 refugees whose number was announced a few weeks ago.

The Commission on Wednesday published its plan according to which 40,000 refugees who have reached Italy and Greece should be relocated. According to the plan 738 refugees would relocated to Estonia -- 443 from Italy and 295 from Greece.

According to commissioner for migration, home affairs and citizenship, Dimitris Avramopoulos, the people to be relocated are Syrian and Eritrean nationals in need of international protection who arrived in either Italy or Greece after April 15 or who arrive after the mechanism is launched. According to the Commission's plan the framework should be put into practice in two years. Member states will receive 6,000 euros for each person relocated on their territory.

In the middle of May the European Commission revealed a plan according to which 20,000 people who have been granted international protection would be resettled to Europe and Estonia would get 326 such refugees.
