Estonian border guards detain 3 Nepalese citizens hidden in van

Estonian border guards on Saturday intercepted an attempt by three Nepalese nationals to secretly enter the country in a van in Polva County, southeastern Estonia.

Last Saturday guards from the Saatse border guard base in the territory of the Varska rural municipality stopped a Volkswagen van, driven by a 55-year-old Estonian citizen, which was transporting three Nepalese citizens who had been entered Estonia unlawfully, spokespeople for the South prefecture said.

The driver was taken to a police station in the town of Voru and the Nepalese citizens were placed tentatively at the Harku detention center for illegal immigrants.
