Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves on Tuesday convened the 13th Riigikogu to gather for its first sitting on March 30.

In his remarks released on the occasion, the president said he expects from the new parliament thinking and acting out of the box, new manner of decision making when necessary, and a clever view to improve people's standard of living, maintain and strengthen security, and promote education and state reform.

«I hope that the Riigikogu will start its work quickly and in an effective manner, we have no time to waste. I also hope that the freshly elected lineup of parliament will not divide itself irreconcilably into coalition and opposition that will reject each other's proposals without discussion, but is able to act in a collaborative manner,» the head of state said according to spokespeople.
