Estonia's first honorary consulate in Serbia inaugurated

Prime Minister Taavi Roivas on Wednesday opened Estonia's first honorary consulate in Serbia in the capital Belgrade.

«The opening of the honorary consulate in Belgrade is a significant landmark in the development of bilateral relations. Estonia has honorary consulates in more than 80 countries and we are proud that Serbia is now one of them,» Roivas was quoted as saying at the inauguration by spokespeople for the Foreign Ministry.

The consular area of the honorary consul, Petar Rakocevic, covers whole Serbia.

Rakocevic who has an education in business administration has worked in different tourism enterprises and at the British embassy in Belgrade. He currently works for the public utility Zelenilo Beograd in addition to having interests in private enterprise.

Roivas took part in the third summit of countries of Central and Eastern Europe and China in Belgrade on Dec. 16-17 and had on its fringes bilateral meetings with the head of the Serbian government, Aleksandar Vucic, and China's Prime Minister Li Keqiang.
