The new secretary general of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, during his meeting with Estonian Prime Minister Taavi Roivas expressed concern over activity of Russian air forces over Europe and called it unjustified.

«Russian air activity has increased all over Europe,» Stoltenberg said at a meeting with Roivas on Thursday and added that as a result NATO's fighters have had to take flight for more than 400 times this year which is 50 percent more than in 2013.

«This pattern is risky and unjustified. NATO continues to remain vigilant,» spokespeople quoted Stoltenberg as saying.

«We are here. And we are ready to defend all allies against any threat,» Stoltenberg said.
