Rector of the Tallinn University of Technology Andres Keevallik who caused a traffic accident while intoxicated at the end of October was imposed a fine, the daily Ohtuleht reports.

He was imposed a fine of 900 euros and his driver's license was revoked for four months.

At the end of October Keevallik said he would resign because of the accident.

The university's council that convened on Tuesday expressed a wish for Keevallik to retain his position until the ordinary rector elections to be held in the spring. The university's board of trustees is to probably convene next week.
