Electricity price EUR 12.06 higher in Estonia than Finland during Estlink 2 reconstruction

During the Oct. 12-20 period when reconstruction works of the Estonia-Finland undersea power cable Estlink 2 took place electricity was on average 12.06 euros more expensive in Nord Pool Spot (NPS) bidding area Estonia than in bidding area Finland.

During the period the average price of electricity in Estonia was 49.54 euros per megawatt-hour while the average price in Finland totaled 37.48 euros per MWh.

The biggest price gap was recorded on Oct. 14 when in Estonia the price of electricity was 23.64 euros higher per MWh than in Finland, while the smalles price gap appeared on Oct. 18 when electricity was only 0.72 euros more expensive in Estonia than in Finland.

On Tuesday the price of electricity in bidding areas Estonia and Finland is 40.19 euros per MWh.
