Indrek Orav to become head of Rail Baltic Estonia holding company

Estonian Minister of Economic Affairs and Infrastructure Urve Palo on Friday signed the foundation documents of the holding company Rail Baltic Estonia OU, according to which Indrek Orav is to become head of the company and Anti Moppel, Agris Peedu and Illar Kaasik will become supervisory board members.

Orav, who will become head of Rail Baltic Estonia as of Oct. 15, has previously held the positions of board member of Eesti Raudtee AS, chairman of Radisson SAS supervisory board and chairman of the board of Notio Puit, spokespeople for the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications said. At present Orav is chairman of the supervisory board of AS Viking Window.

«I see as the primary task in my new position the fast launching of the joint Rail Baltic enterprise of the Baltic countries which is planned to take place in the next few months,» Orav said.

The main purpose of the holding enterprise will be owning of shares and exercising of shareholder's rights in the RB Rail AS joint venture to be set up in Latvia for developing the Rail Baltic project. Head of the holding company will belong in the supervisory board of the joint venture.
