Yesterday, the Spanish company CAF talked about its new streetcars, in Kopli tram depot, also telling the tale of their production history. For the first time ever, an artist’s vision of what the new trams might look like was published.

Tallinn is to purchase 16 new trams from CAF, to service lines No 3 and No 4. The new trams will consist of three modules; they come 30 metres in length and 3.4 m wide. The cars are low bottom, full length, and accommodate 78 seats plus six folded chairs and a multifunctional area for wheelchairs and baby carriages.

The fist new trams are to arrive in Tallinn in November 2014, the final ones covered by this order by the beginning of 2016.
