Andrus Jarg is to become the new CEO of Skype on Sept. 4 after taking over responsibilities from his predecessor Tiit Paananen.

«Andrus has worked at Skype for seven years and I am glad that we are still able to raise leaders from our own team,» vice president of Skype Mark Gillett said.

«Today Skype is a global provider of communications services and our product is used daily by millions of people both at work and at home. Skype is available on many computer and mobile phone platforms and we are working towards creating more and more possibilities for our clients,» Jarg said.

Andrus Jarg joined the company in 2006 and worked in different leading positions at the company's project management and development units. Jarg has also worked at If P&C Insurance, Swedbank and at the Estonian Tax and Customs Board.

Skype employs over 400 people and since 2011 it belongs to the Microsoft Corporation playing an important role in the company's product portfolio.
