About 1,200 more deaths than births registered Jan-July

The number of deaths registered in Estonia in the first seven months of this year exceeded the number of births registered by 1,200.

The number of births registered in the seven month period was 8,133, data released by Statistics Estonia show.

Deaths registered during the same period numbered 9,350 which means that 1,217 more deaths than births were registered during the seven months.

Births were registered the most in July when 1,300 children were born and July was also the only month when more births were registered than deaths.

The biggest number of deaths was registered in January -- 1,565.
