Merko to build manufacturing and logistics center in Latvia for EUR 18 mln

SIA Merks, a company of the listed Estonian AS Merko Ehitus construction group, and the Latvian company SIA Polipaks NT on Wednesday evening signed an agreement for the construction of a manufacturing and logistics center in the Marupe area near Riga.

Under the contract, SIA Merks will build a polyethylene, polypropylene and biopolymer packaging production and logistics center and an office. The total gross area of the building will be 35,000 square meters and the approximate contract value is 17.8 million euros exclusive of value added tax. The works are scheduled for completion in February 2015.

As at the end of 2012, the Merko group employed 915 people and its revenue in 2012 amounted to 249.1 million euros.
