H1 profit of Tallinna Kaubamaja plummets 57 pct to EUR 2.4 mln

The net profit of the listed Estonian retail group Tallinna Kaubamaja fell 57.4 percent in the first half of 2013 compared to the same period last year, amounting to 2.4 million euros.

The group's sales revenue was 235.8 million euros, increasing 4.9 percent compared to the first half of 2012, spokespeople for the company said.

In the second quarter the group's sales grew 4.2 percent to 123.8 million euros and net profit doubled to 4.6 million euros.

In the second half of the year Tallinna Kaubamaja plans to open three new Selver supermarkets and transform a building it owns in Ulmana street in Riga into a modern car salon.
