The food industry confidence indicator in Estonia rose from 12 points in the first quarter to 19 points in the second quarter, the Estonian Institute of Economic Research (EKI) said.

Insufficient demand is one of the main obstacles for increases in output volume, 77 percent of the companies interviewed said compared to 55 percent in the previous quarter.

A third of the companies surveyed foresee bigger export orders. Sales prices of finished products are seen to remain the same by all of the businesses.

One in four producers is planning to increase their workforce.
