Elisa posts sales increase of 24 pct to EUR 20 mln in 2012

Elisa Eesti, fully held Estonian subsidiary of the Finnish telecommunications group Elisa, made a net profit of 19.8 million euros in 2012 which is 24 percent more than the year before, according to the company's annual report.

Sales revenue increased 12 percent to 111.8 million euros and the customer base grew 14 percent to 639,000 clients.

Of the sales revenue 79 million euros came from providing mobile communications services, 14.6 million euros from providing other telecommunications services and 18 million euros from the sale of other telecommunications equipment.

Elisa invested 9.6 million euros in coverage and built 199 new base stations during the period.

The company had a workforce of 519 people at the end of 2012 and labor costs totaled 11.8 million euros. The supervisory board and management board members received no pay in 2012. Remuneration paid out to the management totaled 1.3 million euros.

The company had roughly 130 million euros in retained profits at the end of last year.
