1,703 new cars registered in June

The number of passenger cars registered in the Estonian motor vehicle register in June for the first time was 4,255, of which 1,703 or 40 percent were brand new.

The number of new cars registered for the first time was 13.4 percent smaller and the total number of cars in first registration 12.8 percent smaller than in June 2012.  

The share of brand new cars in the total number of first-time registrations was on a par with June 2012. During June 2012, 4,882 passenger cars were entered into the register for the first time and 1,966 of them were brand new. In May 2013 the corresponding figures were 4,889 and 2,003.

The most popular car in June was Honda CR-V with 70 new units registered during the month. Toyota Auris and Nissan Qashqai followed at respectively 63 and 59 units, Subaru Legacy was in fourth place with 52 units and Skoda Octavia fifth with 51.

The list of manufacturers was topped by Toyota with 207 new cars registered, Volkswagen being second with 154 and Honda third with 140 units. Renault was in fourth place with 137 units.

Of the 582 trucks registered in Estonia for the first time in June 298 were brand new. The number of buses registered was 28, including six brand new units. The number of motorcycles in first-time registration was 253, of which 78 were brand new, and the respective numbers for tractors were 67 and 59.
