Man who went overboard from Tallink ship found alive hours later

A man who went overboard from a passenger ferry of the Estonian shipper Tallink in the night was found alive seven hours later, online news portal of the public broadcaster ERR reports.

The man went overboard from the cruise boat Baltic Queen that was en route from Tallinn to Mariehamn at around 4 a.m. His disappearance wasn't reported until 8 a.m., Finnish broadcaster Yle said.

The man's fall was established with the help of CCTV footage.

A helicopter was scrambled to help look for the missing man. He was found at around 11 a.m., freezing but alive.
