The Estonian Technical Surveillance Authority checked EMT's 4G network for compliance with the conditions of the 790-862 megahertz frequency license issued to the company and found that EMT has met the conditions in terms of the number of base stations, coverage and data transmission speeds alike.

EMT committed to build at least 199 LTE base stations across Estonia, achieve coverage of 95 percent of the country's territory and guarantee a download speed of at least 5 Mbps to end users by June 16 this year.

Speed measurements in 54 randomly selected spots showed that the average download speed was 18.1 Mbps and the upload speed averaged 11.1 Mbps.

In 53 places the download speed was above 5 Mbps, thus, the required speed has been ensured on 98.1 percent of Estonia's territory.

Basing on signal strength measurements, the surveillance agency estimates coverage at 95.4 percent. EMT has to date installed 212 base stations.
