Estonians' purchasing power lowest among Baltic countries.

Actual private consumption based on purchasing power parity amounted to 59 percent of the EU average in Estonia in 2012 making for the lowest score in the Baltics. Purchasing power reached 61 percent of EU average in Latvia and 74 percent in Lithuania. Estonia did somewhat better in terms of GDP, reaching 68 percent of the EU average against Latvia's 62 percent and Lithuania's 70 percent. Eurostat concludes that the former indicator is more accurate in determining the relative prosperity of a country's population.
