Ansip's meeting with Medvedev constructive.

Prime Minister Andrus Ansip met with his Russian colleague Dmitri Medvedev yesterday at the Baltic Sea States prime ministers' meeting, after which Ansip said that the countries have nothing to criticize each other for at the moment and that a breakthrough is imminent in border treaty negotiations.

"We agreed at lunch that our mutual economic interests have developed rapidly and successfully despite their modest nature," the PM said. Medvedev said at the meeting's press conference that while Estonia-Russia relations are not on the highest level judging by several parameters, the countries should move away from an ideological footing. "If we can avoid certain schemes that exist in our relations, often ideological ones, we could deliver a decisive push aimed at economic cooperation and personal contacts. And I hope it will be done," the Russian PM said in Saint Petersburg.

Savisaar denies Swiss bank account.

A Swiss criminal court ruling from last year suggests that a bank account associated with the person of Center Party chairman, mayor of Tallinn Edgar Savisaar held 470,000 euros meant for publication and campaign expenses of the opposition party. The party refuted such claims as Secretary general Priit Toobal said it has not received any kind of support from Switzerland.

Edgar Savisaar said that since no suspicions have been brought to his attention, he cannot comment on something that doesn't exist. The Security Police is conducting an investigation into possible money laundering and bribery associated with the mayor.
