Estonia: avg price of Tallinn apartments moves up 9.5 pct on year

The average price per square meter of apartments in Tallinn that changed hands in January was 1,135 euros, 9.5 percent higher than in January a year ago, it appears from figures available from the Estonian Land Board.

The number of transactions grew 11.3 percent year on year to 534. The total value of the transactions was 33.2 million euros and the average size of an apartment in a purchase and sale transaction was 52.8 square meters.

The average price per square meter of apartments in Tallinn that changed hands in December 2012 was 1,133 euros, the number of transactions was 504, their total 33.2 million euros and the average size of apartment 56 square meters.

The corresponding indicators for January 2012 were 480 transactions, 1,037 euros, 27.1 million euros and 51.3 square meters.

Transactions with apartments outside the capital city numbered 669 and the average price per square meter was 478 euros in January. The total value of the transactions was 18.3 million euros and the average size of an apartment was 52.3 square meters.

In December 592 transactions with apartments outside Tallinn were concluded, the average price per square meter was 479.5 euros, the total value of transactions was 15,95 million euros and the average size of an apartment changing hands was 52 square meters.

In last January 502 apartments outside Tallinn changed hands at an average price of 439.5 euros per square meter, the aggregate value of the transactions was 12.7 million euros and the average size of an apartment was 54 square meters.
