The City government of Tallinn and the Estonian defense forces have signed a cooperation agreement of common interests which also lays down the ways how the defense forces can come to the assistance of the city when it is in a situation of crisis.

Command lines were agreed on at the meeting of the Defense forces and Kaitseliit representatives how information moves to Tallinn  in case of assistance, the city government told BNS.

"We agreed that we would not have to draw up a long round of endorsements, as a result of which movement of the defense forces' machines would become more fluent in the city, said deputy Mayor Kalle Klandorf. "The best machines are in the use of the defense forces in Estonia and the Padaorg snow catastrophe was settled by them in 2010," the deputy mayor said, adding that also then the defense forces came to the assistance in clearing snow from the city.

Mayor of Tallinn Edgar Savisaar, deputy Mayor Kalle Klandorf, Brig. Gen. Riho Terras, commander of the defense forces, Lt. Col. Rene Brus, commander of the North Defense Area, and Maj. Lauri Abel commander of the Tallinn company of Kaitseliit took part in the meeting.
