Local government debt biggest in Harju County.

Of the sixteen local governments that do not comply with Estonia's 60 percent of budget loan burden requirement, four are located in Harju County, three in Tartu County and two in Pärnu and Viljandi counties respectively.

The town of Vändra in Pärnu County has the highest loan burden at 187 percent of budget, followed by Harju County's Kiili parish at 118 percent, the town of Loksa at 113 percent and Viimsi parish at 105 percent. The 60 percent of budget debt ceiling was laid down in 2011 and stands to be lifted for individual municipalities as from 2016.

EU Affairs Committee does not support gender quotas.

The Riigikogu EU Affairs Committee discussed the European Parliament and the European Commission's gender quotas directive bill yesterday, according to which 40 percent of board members of listed companies need to be chosen from the underrepresented sex, and concluded that while the committee supports greater involvement of women in enterprise and management of listed companies, it is nevertheless not in favor of mandatory quotas.

Center Party on top of polls.

The recent TNS Emor political parties poll puts the oppositional Center Party on top with 28 percent of the vote, followed closely by the Social Democrat Party (SDE) with 27 percent. The Center Party was also the only one able to boost its support rating, up 4 percent month-over-month. The support rating of the ruling Reform Party has come down to 20 percent while that of minority coalition partner Pro Patria Res Publica Union was clocked at 16 percent. People without a clear political favorite made up 38 percent of the vote.
