The management of the mining arm of Eesti Energia said that it has reached an agreement with the trade union of miners and energy workers over the terms of the new collective agreement, reported BBN.

According to the company’s management, the trade unions finally agreed to a 7-percent wage raise although their initial demand had been 20 percent.

This means that the looming strike of workers will not take place.

Vladislav Ponjatovski, head of trade union of energy sector workers, said that talks over some technical issues and social guarantees were continuing.
